The Arctic winter can be tough, long, and at times very dark. But in the twilight the unique winter light can render the mountains with amazing colors, and in the crystal clear air leave you breathless. The daytime lighting scene is often released by a firework-like display of northern lights, dancing across the sky into the night, leaving you in awe over the wonders of nature. Listen for the howl of the arctic fox or the careful steps of a moose in the snow while gazing out over the landscape

WINTER TOURS

The trip starts in Narvik, the capitol of the Ofoten region. After hotel pickup guests are transported to the guide’s own cabin located in Efjord. The approximate 1 hr scenic drive provides a variety of unique landscapes and outstanding views.

Upon arrival we’ll begin setting up for the day, including building a bonfire outside as well as lighting the fireplace inside. Coffee and Norwegian waffles is an important part of the Norwegian cabin life and is a must after the initial tasks have been completed. Winter time in Northern Norway offers many great motives for photographers, and the area provides excellent opportunities for hiking and nice walks along the sea. Northern lights are often present, and can be entertaining for hours.
